Nexus Health Appoints New Medical Director at Conroes Touchstone Neurorecovery Center
- Local doctor brings strong clinical/leadership experience to post-acute care facility -
December 7, 2006 (HOUSTON, TX)Nexus Health Systems recently introduced Stuart Leder, MD, as its new medical director for Touchstone
Neurorecovery Center, a nationally recognized neurobehavioral rehabilitation center located in Conroe.
Touchstone is gaining a tremendous asset in Dr. Leder and his expansive medical and organizational experience, said John W. Cassidy, MD,
president and CEO of Houston-based Nexus Health Systems. We are confident that he will help advance Touchstones mission to develop and
provide state-of-the-art transitional, residential and vocational rehabilitation services for individuals with brain injuries or other
neurological disabilities.
As medical director, some of Dr. Leders responsibilities include directing medical care of specialty services at Touchstone, caring for
individual patients, evolving its patient care management system, and representing Touchstone in the community.
Dr. Leder, who lives in The Woodlands, currently serves as medical director for Universal MRI of Champions Forest and for the Stroke Center
at Tomball Regional Hospital. He also is a neurologist with the Gulf Coast Center for Neurological Disorders, P.A. He previously has served
in several other clinical oversight roles, including as chairman of the Department of Neurology at Conroe Regional Medical Center and as
medical director of neurology at Healthsouth Rehabilitation Center in The Woodlands.
A familiar member of the Conroe medical community, Dr. Leder worked for 10 years as a neurologist at the Sadler Clinic. He served in
several leadership roles at the Sadler Clinic, including as chairman of the board of directors and medical executive committee.
Dr. Leder also taught for several years as a clinical assistant professor with the Department of Family Practice at the UTMB at Galveston,
Conroe Division. He practices at Conroe Regional Medical Center, Tomball Regional Hospital and The Woodlands Memorial Hermann Hospital.
Dr. Leder is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and graduated with his M.D. from Baylor College of Medicine after
obtaining his Bachelors degree in neurology from The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. He has been published several times
and is a prolific speaker.
