Justice Department Counsel Joins Houston Office of Mayer, Brown, Rowe & Maw


- New attorney also represents offices third former Supreme Court clerk -

November 1, 2006 (HOUSTON, TX)Mayer, Brown, Rowe & Maw LLP recently welcomed Jeffrey Oldham to the Houston offices Litigation and Appellate teams. Oldham most recently served as counsel in the Department of Justice for United States Attorney General Alberto R. Gonzales.

Previously, Oldham worked as a law clerk for the Honorable William H. Rehnquist, Chief Justice of the United States, and for the Honorable J. Harvie Wilkinson III of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.

Oldham joins an office that includes two other former U.S. Supreme Court Clerks. J. Brett Busby, a partner in the Houston offices Appellate Section, clerked for Associate Justice Byron R. White (Ret.) and Associate Justice John Paul Stevens. Jeremy Gaston, an associate also with the Appellate Section, clerked for Associate Justice Sandra Day OConnor.

"We are excited to add another skilled and accomplished attorney to Mayer, Brown, Rowe & Maws litigation team, said Michael Niebruegge, partner in charge of the Houston office. "Mayer Browns Appellate Practice is the nations oldest and largest, having litigated nearly 200 cases before the Supreme Court and hundreds more in the Texas and other appellate courts across the nation. Jeffrey Oldham adds further depth to our growing Houston office and our national litigation ranks.

Oldham received his law degree from Northwestern University School of Law, where he graduated magna cum laude, was a member of Order of the Coif, and served as Coordinating Articles Editor for the Northwestern University Law Review. He also holds a B.S.B.A. from the University of Tulsa, where he graduated summa cum laude.
