New Banking & Finance Attorney Joins Mayer, Brown, Rowe & Maw Houston Office
- New team member adds firepower to founding practice and signature strength of firm -
December 5, 2006 (HOUSTON, TX)
The Houston office of Mayer, Brown, Rowe & Maw recently announced that Bola Coker joined the firm from
Dechert in Boston, where she worked as a finance and real estate associate. Coker augments what is already one of the top banking and
finance groups in the country, and across the world. Chambers and Partners described the finance practice as a well-established, top-tier
international banking practice, a banking powerhouse for its sheer manpower and global coverage and technically excellent.
Coker also previously worked as a paralegal at a law firm and a healthcare financial firm and assisted with a Civil Rights project at
Harvard Law School, where she received her law degree. She received her Masters in Public Administration from the John F. Kennedy School of
Government at Harvard and graduated magna cum laude with her Bachelors degree in political science from State University of New York at
Stony Brook. There, she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, Pi Alpha Sigma and the Golden Key National Honor Society.
We are proud of our international leadership in the finance and banking arenas, said Michael Niebruegge, Partner-In-Charge of the Houston
office and Practice Group Leader for the Houston Finance and Banking team. With one out of every three of the 100 largest banks as clients,
including 19 of the top 20, and 16 of the largest banks in Europe as clients, it would be difficult for an attorney to find a firm that
offers a comparable professional and personal growth path as Mayer, Brown, Rowe & Maw.
