Houston West Chamber of Commerce Honors HealthBridge Childrens Hospital with Star Award
- Hospital recognized for exceptional business performance and community service -
February 19, 2007 (HOUSTON, TX)The Houston West Chamber of Commerce presented HealthBridge Childrens Hospital with the coveted Star Award
at the chambers annual luncheon on Thursday, February 8, 2007.
We are extremely proud to be recognized by the Houston West Chamber as both a solid business and a good corporate citizen, said Geoffrey
Swaby, administrator for HealthBridge Childrens Hospital. This award represents the culmination of a lot of hard work by our incredible
employees, who dedicate themselves every day to making our patients lives a little brighter and our community a little better.
The Star Awards celebration was created in 1998 to highlight local companies that demonstrate outstanding achievement on three levels:
economic growth, contributions to the community, and industry and customer recognition. HealthBridge won the Star Award honoring businesses
with 26 to 150 employees.
In the economic growth category, HealthBridges employee count reached 106 at the end of 2005 the number the hospital had projected for
the end of 2006. Gross revenues totaled $16.5 million in 2005, compared to projected growth revenues of $19.1 million for 2006.
HealthBridge Childrens Hospital was an active community contributor on several levels in 2006. The hospital contributed money to
Childrens Memorial Hermann Hospitals 2006 fund-raising campaign and Interfaith of The Woodlands, and volunteers to Texas Childrens
Hospital for its 2006 Bad Pants Open benefiting Texas Childrens Newborn Center.
HealthBridge also provided much-needed medical care, room and board, and other support to patients and families affected by Hurricane
Katrina and Hurricane Rita.
The recognition and testimonials provided by the patients and families that HealthBridge serves also played an important role in
HealthBridges achievement.
One woman, whose daughter barely survived a diabetic coma and benefited from HealthBridges rehabilitation services, wrote, we were
extremely sad on leaving the wonderful people who helped us so much in so many ways. Without them, I dont think Marcella and I could have
made this alone. The staff there really knows how to touch lives.
In addition to the Star Award, HealthBridge also was named one of the Top 25 Specialty Hospitals in Houston by the Houston Business
Journal.
