Nexus Health Appoints New Medical Director at Houstons HealthBridge Childrens Hospital
- Area doctor/professor to lead Houstons first and only pediatric specialty hospital -
January 14, 2007 (HOUSTON, TX)Nexus Health Systems recently welcomed Robert Yetman, MD, as its new medical director for HealthBridge
Childrens Hospital, which provides comprehensive, interdisciplinary care for children with birth and developmental disorders, catastrophic
illness or traumatic injury.
Dr. Yetman currently teaches at The University of Texas-Houston Medical School as a professor of pediatrics. He also serves as the director
of the division of community and general pediatrics and medical director of the Well-Baby Nursery at Hermann Hospital. Additionally, Dr.
Yetman is medical director for The University of Texas Pediatric Clinic The Kids Place.
Dr. Yetman is a highly skilled pediatric expert and is accomplished in academic circles, said John W. Cassidy, MD, president and CEO of
Houston-based Nexus Health Systems. He brings a wealth of knowledge and talent in management and medical practices that will help us best
serve the special children and families that rely on HealthBridge for personalized treatment and care.
As medical director, Dr. Yetman will direct and coordinate medical care of pediatric patients at HealthBridge, develop appropriate policies
and procedures for patient care, provide training and counsel to clinical staff, and represent HealthBridge in the community.
Dr. Yetman, who lives in southwest Houston, is an attending physician at Childrens Memorial Hermann Hospital and LBJ General Hospital, both
in Houston.
Dr. Yetman is a fellow with the American Academy of Pediatrics and is a member of several organizations including the Texas Pediatric
Society, the Southern Society for Pediatric Research, among others. He has received various honors and awards, has served on numerous
hospital and professional committees, and has published dozens of scholarly articles.
Having received both his Doctor of Medicine and his Bachelor of Science degree from Louisiana State University in Shreveport, Dr. Yetman was
a resident in pediatrics at The University of Texas-Houston Medical School. He is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics.
